Our Story
Movement Education Built for Real People
Tegapio started because most strength programmes were designed for athletes, not for the person who just wants to carry groceries without straining their back.
Back to HomeWho We Are
A Small Studio with a Clear Focus
Tegapio was founded in Subang Jaya in 2019 by a group of movement educators who noticed a gap between general fitness culture and what working adults in Malaysia actually needed. Classes were often too intense, too expensive, or built around equipment that most people did not own.
We set out to build something different — short programmes using body weight and household items, taught at a pace that does not leave anyone behind. Our name reflects that spirit: "tegap" in Malay carries the sense of being upright, sturdy, and composed. That is the quality we hope to help people build.
Today we run three core programmes from our Persiaran Kewajipan studio, serving adults from across the Klang Valley who want movement that makes daily life a little easier — not harder.

How We Work
Our Standards and Approach
Every programme we offer is built around a consistent set of principles that keeps the experience safe, honest, and genuinely useful.
Movement Safety First
All sessions begin with a short review of how each participant is feeling that day. We adjust intensity on the spot — no one is pushed beyond what feels right.
Educator Qualifications
Our educators hold relevant qualifications in movement, physical education, or adult learning. We do not place anyone in front of a group without adequate preparation and hands-on experience.
Structured Programme Reviews
We review each programme at least twice a year based on participant feedback and current best practices in movement education. Content is updated rather than left static.
Participant Privacy
We collect only the information needed to run your programme. We do not share or sell participant details, and our data handling follows Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010.
Open Feedback Culture
Participants are invited to share honest feedback after every programme block. We take this seriously and use it to shape what we offer next.
Clear, Honest Pricing
The price you see is the price you pay. We do not add hidden fees or pressure participants into upgrades. If a programme is not right for you, we will say so.
Our Purpose
Strength as an Everyday Skill
Tegapio sits in Subang Jaya's Persiaran Kewajipan area, a short walk or drive from most of central Subang and easily reachable from Petaling Jaya and Shah Alam. We chose this location because we wanted the studio to feel convenient, not like a special trip that takes planning.
Our work centres on one simple idea: strength is more useful as a daily habit than as an occasional effort. People who carry shopping bags, climb apartment stairs, spend long hours at a desk, or spend weekends out with their families are using some form of physical capability every day. What we offer is structured education around building and maintaining that capability in a way that fits real schedules and real comfort levels.
We work with adults across a range of ages and backgrounds. Some participants have never done anything structured around movement. Others have tried group fitness before and found it overwhelming. A smaller number come from a sports background and are looking for something lower-intensity to maintain their baseline. All of them find something useful in the programmes because the content is adjusted to where each person actually is — not where a generic plan assumes they should be.
Our home practice guides are a point of pride. These are straightforward, one or two-page documents that lay out what to do between sessions in plain language. No jargon, no assumptions, just clear steps that someone can follow on their own kitchen floor if they want to.
If you have questions about whether Tegapio is a fit for what you are looking for, we welcome honest conversations. Reach out and we will talk through it — no pressure to commit to anything before you feel ready.
