I joined the Steady Strength Coaching block after years of barely moving. I was nervous about keeping up, but the educator genuinely adjusted the session when something was too much. By week six I noticed I could climb the stairs at my office without needing to slow down at the top. Small thing, but it meant a lot.

I tried the Strong Basics Class first, mostly out of curiosity. The group size was genuinely small — five of us that day — and the educator had time to actually watch how each person was moving. I signed up for the ten-week block the following week. The home guide is a nice touch; I still refer to mine.

What I liked most was that nobody compared themselves to anyone else in the group. The educator set the tone from the first session — this is about your progress, not a competition. I am now eight months into the Year of Steady Progress membership and still finding the quarterly reviews useful.

I work long hours at a desk and my back had been giving me trouble. A colleague mentioned Tegapio and I was sceptical — I had tried a gym before and always felt out of place. The Strong Basics class was completely different. No pressure, no jargon, just clear movement with a reasonable explanation of why.

The coaching block is worth it if you can fit it in your week. I missed one session around week four — family commitment — and the educator sent me a quick summary of what was covered and adjusted the plan for the following week. That was genuinely helpful. It did not feel like I had fallen behind.

I am now in my second year of the membership. The quarterly review in March was the most useful yet — the educator noticed I had been avoiding some of the floor movements and we figured out a modification that works better for my knees. That kind of attention is what keeps me coming back.

Case Studies
Participant Journeys
Three detailed accounts of how participants moved through our programmes over time.
The Starting Point
Returning after a Long Pause
Faridah, 47, an administrative executive from Subang Jaya, had not done any structured movement since university. Lower back stiffness from long hours at a desk was affecting her daily comfort.
The Approach
Starting with the Basics Class
She attended the Strong Basics Class in October 2024 to test whether the environment felt right. After that session she signed up for the ten-week coaching block, starting slowly with mostly seated and standing movements.
After Ten Weeks
A Routine That Stuck
By week eight she was doing two short home sessions between coached sessions. The lower back stiffness was not gone but was noticeably less frequent. She has since joined the Year of Steady Progress membership.
"I am not a fitness person and I do not think I ever will be. But I am a person who moves more carefully now, and that has made a difference."
The Starting Point
Early Retiree, Active Goals
Chong Wei Liang, 62, retired and wanting to maintain his independence as he aged. He could walk comfortably but was concerned about balance and how his body would hold up over the next decade.
The Approach
Year Membership from the Start
After one conversation with the lead educator, he joined directly as a Year of Steady Progress member. Sessions focused on standing balance, getting up from the floor, and load-carrying habits relevant to his weekend market errands.
After Eight Months
Consistent and Comfortable
He attends sessions twice a week and uses the home guides on alternate days. His balance has noticeably improved; the quarterly review in February adjusted the programme to include a wider variety of movement directions.
"The quarterly review was something I looked forward to. It felt like a proper check-in rather than a formality."
